An unmissable yearly appointment - on Saturday September 15th and Sunday September 16th the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese will show itself to visitors in a decidedly unusual way: with "Open Bonnets". The limelight will therefore not be taken by the marvellous bodyworks that are known and appreciated by visitors all over the world, but rather by what they hide underneath. That is, their frames, engines, the "heart" of the Alfa Romeos of all time. Everything you cannot usually see will be unveiled to visitors this weekend.
This is a different and new way of admiring cars. Just think of the sleek and streamlined silhouette of the Carabo, which will be transformed for the occasion and raise its unique vertical scissor doors, or the 33 Stradale prototype which will open its sophisticated body designed by Franco Scaglione to display its drivetrain directly derived from the races. Or the huge bonnets of the Tipo 33, which will be lifted to show the powerful engines that reaped so many victories for the Alfa Romeo brand. And many more unique details that are usually not visible to the eye: from the injection engine prototype on the 2600 Sprint to the extreme set-up conceived for the Sprint 6C.
Apart from the vehicles displayed in the museum and in the adjacent areas - just under one hundred in total between the permanent collection and the temporary exhibits - also other new vehicles will be displayed for the occasion. The star of this edition will be the complete cross-section of the Alfa 33 which, almost thirty-five years after being shown in the Car Shows all over Europe, comes back today to show every detail of its refined mechanics.
On Saturday September 15th and Sunday September 16th, the Alfa Romeo Museum will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On both days there will be a free guided tour at 4 p.m. For information and booking: info@museoalfaromeo.com.
